A Pike County woman was killed in a one-car crash Thursday night in Roaring Brook Township.
Melanie Colazzo, 42, of Greentown, was travelling in the westbound lane of I-84 near mile marker 6 at about 6:30 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to a state police release.
When the road curved left, Colazzo continued straight in her Nissan Murano, leaving the roadway to the south of I-84. She first hit a sign, which caused her to spin counterclockwise. barrel rolled, hit a valley area and then began rolling again in the opposite direction, according to the release.
Colazzo then hit a sign and continued to roll a short distance. Her vehicle ultimately came to rest south of I-84, facing northeast.
She was declared dead at the scene.
