UPDATE: 1 dead after tractor trailer accident in Christian County
Hopkinsville Fire and EMS, along with the Christian County Coroner, responded Tuesday morning to a fatal single-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer.
According to a Facebook post from Hopkinsville Fire and EMS, the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m., blocking the westbound on-ramp from Fort Campbell Boulevard to I-24.
At 9:19 a.m., officials confirmed that the Christian County Coroner was called to the scene. Coroner Scott Daniel confirmed to WBKO that it was a single-vehicle accident resulting in one death. An identity has not yet been released.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 2 reported that the affected ramp is Exit 86, connecting U.S. 41A southbound to I-24 westbound. They estimate the closure will last at least four hours.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, including KY 117 south of I-24 to rejoin the interstate at Exit 73 or I-169 from Hopkinsville.
