Shocking video shows car EXPLODE after catching fire at Colindale Morrisons today

This is the shocking moment which shows a car explode after catching fire at Kingsbury Morrisons.

 

A car was destroyed and two others damaged in the fire at Edgware Road A5 at 7.07pm yesterday (February 6).

 

There were no reported injuries but around 100 people were evacuated from nearby shops before the fire brigade arrived.

A video shared online shows an explosion coming from a car burning fiercely in a busy car park.

 

The fire is believed by the London Fire Brigade to have been accidental and caused by an engine fault.

Another video shows the road filled with fire engines and queues of traffic trying to pass the incident.

 

The AA reported Edgware Road as closed both ways from Grove Park to Capitol Way.

 

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters from Hendon, Mill Hill and surrounding fire stations had brought the blaze under control by 8.48pm.

 

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters responded to a fire in a car park on Edgeware Road, Kingsbury.

 

“Three cars were involved in the fire, with one car completely destroyed.

 

“The other two cars were partly damaged during the incident.

Around 100 people evacuated themselves from surrounding retail properties before the Brigade arrived at the scene. There are no reports of any injuries.

 

“The Brigade took 20 calls reporting the fire, with the first received at 1907.

 

“Control Officers mobilised crews from Hendon, Mill Hill and surrounding fire stations to the scene.

 

“Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control by 2048.

 

“The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by a fault in a vehicles engine.”
