Rogersville man killed in single-vehicle crash on Alabama 33

COURTLAND, Ala. — A single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning claimed the life of a Rogersville man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Nigil J. Spangler, 23, was critically injured when the 2010 Nissan Maxima he was driving left the roadway, struck a ditch, and overturned. Officials said Spangler was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 15-year-old passenger from Moulton was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

 

The accident occurred on Alabama 33 near the 39-mile marker, approximately one mile south of Courtland in Lawrence County.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident.
