Authorities said two men, father and son, aged 69 and 36, respectively, were on the boat when it capsized.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife told FOX 56 that the 69-year-old was sleeping on the bow of the boat at the time of the crash. He was taken to a Wayne County hospital for treatment before being airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

The other man was thrown from the boat into the water when search and rescue said they deployed a rescue diver, who found him within three minutes. He received immediate medical attention but ultimately died at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
