Lady Vols’ Balanced Attack Overwhelms Auburn in 83-61 Rout
Knoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols showcased their depth and versatility on Thursday night, as they dismantled the Auburn Tigers 83-61 in a dominant performance at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Six Lady Vols scored in double figures, led by Jordan Horston’s 17 points, as the team shared the scoring load and overwhelmed Auburn’s defense. The balanced attack allowed Tennessee to pull away in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 44-29 after the break.
“We’ve been working on our offense, trying to get everyone involved and get the ball moving,” said Lady Vols Head Coach Kellie Harper. “Tonight, we did a great job of sharing the ball and finding the open player. It was a fun game to watch.”
Rickea Jackson added 15 points, while Jillian Hollingshead chipped in with 14. Sara Puckett and Destiny Salary contributed 12 points apiece, and Tamari Key rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
Tennessee’s offense was clicking on all cylinders, as the Lady Vols shot 52.5% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range. They also dominated the boards, outrebounding Auburn 43-26.

With the win, Tennessee improves to 20-5 overall and 9-2 in the SEC. The Lady Vols will look to build on this momentum as they head into the final stretch of the regular season.
“We’re feeling good about where we are right now, but we know we still have a lot of work to do,” Harper said. “We’re going to enjoy this win tonight, but tomorrow we’ll get back to work and start preparing for our next game.”
