A collision on a road south of Gilroy early Monday morning claimed the lives of two persons, and the California Highway Patrol is looking into the incident. Around 12:30 in the morning, a two-car collision on State Route 25, also called Hollister Road, was reported. The 24-year-old driver of a 2018 Nissan Sentra veered over double yellow lines into the northbound lane while traveling south on the road close to Bloomfield Avenue, according to the CHP.
The Nissan collided with a 2012 Dodge Charger driven by a 35-year-old lady as it was approaching. The road was stopped for five hours to conduct an investigation after the collision claimed the lives of both drivers. Whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash is unknown.
