Jim Kleinsasser Elected to College Football Hall of Fame

A player who has been a fan favorite on this website, and with Minnesota Vikings fans in general, is getting some much-deserved recognition in the near future.

The announcement was made yesterday that Jim Kleinsasser has been elected as part of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

Kleinsasser, the pride of Carrington, North Dakota, spent his college years at the University of North Dakota. During his time in Grand Forks, he was a two-time All-American as well as a three-time First-Team All-North Central Conference selection.

When his college career was done, Kleinsasser was drafted in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Vikings, and he spent his entire 13 season career in the NFL in purple. He played both fullback and tight end with the Vikings, though most seasons he was listed as a tight end. In his career, he caught 192 passes for 1,688 yards and six touchdowns. Those 192 receptions put him in fifth on the list of receptions for a tight end as a member of the Vikings.

The College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony won’t happen for a while, as it’s scheduled for 9 December at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Congratulations to Jim Kleinsasser on his upcoming induction into the College Football Hall of Fame!
