Hackettstown Teen Killed In Crash After Car Strikes Pole: Police
The victim was a hard-working senior at Hackettstown High School, according to a GoFundMe supporting her family.
Hackettstown teen was killed when her vehicle hit a utility pole early Saturday morning in Long Valley, officials said.
The driver — a 17-year-old girl from Hackettstown — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Washington Township police. Authorities didn’t disclose her name, but a GoFundMe page identified Isabella Todaro as the victim of a fatal Saturday crash.
The single-vehicle collision occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on Flocktown Road, near Nestlingwood Drive, police said.
Washington Township police continue to investigate but said they will release no further details. The agency extended condolences to the driver’s family.
A GoFundMe supporting Isabella’s family has raised more than $35,000 as of Saturday night. Isabella, a Hackettstown High School senior, had a bright future ahead of her, according to the fundraising page.
“She was a hard worker and loved spending time with friends, family and had a special bond with twin brother Louis,” the GoFundMe says. “We will always remember her bright blue eyes and contagious laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”
Hackettstown High School will open Sunday and Monday to offer support services, according to Debra Grigoletti, superintendent of the Hackettstown Public School District.
The District was heartbroken to learn that one of our high school students was lost as a result of a car accident,” Grigoletti said in a letter to the Hackettstown community. “The District joins our community in grief and sorrow over this tragic event, and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the student’s family.”
The high school will be open during the following times for support services before classes resume Tuesday
