Byron Murphy Jr. wins Defensive Most Valuable Player
While the offense gets the most shine during the Pro Bowl Games, it’s the defense that can stand out in a positive way. Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy Jr. is one of those players. He earned himself the Defensive Most Valuable Player Award.
Murphy had a tremendous season for the Vikings and thrived across multiple positions in the secondary. He earned a starting not in the Pro Bowl Games for his efforts and rewarded them with a pick-six to grow the NFC’s already 19 point lead.
Murphy is set to become a free agent in March after his excellent season. The Vikings would be smart to sign him to a new contract as soon as possible, especially since the price will be much higher if he hits the market.
