Committed: Raiders, new general manager agree to contract terms with Vikings
The Las Vegas Raiders have a new general manager, John Spytek, after agreeing to contract terms with him. Spytek, who was the assistant general manager for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, signed a five-year deal with the Raiders.¹ ² This move comes after the Raiders fired their previous general manager, Tom Telesco, earlier this month.
Spytek has extensive NFL front-office experience, having worked with the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns, and Denver Broncos. He also has a connection with Raiders minority owner Tom Brady, as they won a Super Bowl together with the Buccaneers.
With Spytek on board, the Raiders will now focus on finding a new head coach. Former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll is reportedly a front-runner for the position. The Raiders are looking to rebuild and become a competitive team in the NFL, and Spytek’s experience and expertise will be crucial in achieving that goal.
