Caleb Wilson, the top-ranked power forward in the 2025 class, is set to announce his college commitment, and Kentucky is one of his final three choices.¹ According to On3’s recruiting prediction machine, Kentucky had a 74.5% chance of landing Wilson.² However, recent developments suggest that North Carolina has taken the lead in his recruitment.

Analyst Joe Tipton believes that Wilson’s fit with the Tar Heels, particularly playing alongside point guard Elliot Cadeau, has become a major factor in his decision. Additionally, Tipton notes that UNC’s success with freshmen players, such as Ian Jackson, has also appealed to Wilson.

While Kentucky is still in the running, Tipton thinks their chances have decreased significantly. If Wilson chooses UNC, Kentucky will likely shift their focus to another top recruit, Nate Ament.
