Dolly Parton Greets Season Passholders and Media During 2024 Preview Day

During the grand opening ceremonies of the 39th season of Dollywood, her internationally recognised theme park in the Smoky Mountains, Dolly Parton and Eugene Naughton, President of Dollywood Parks & Resorts, greeted guests and the media with much hoopla. In addition to giving an update on her hectic winter and giving a sneak peek at Dollywood’s 2024 season, Dolly also previewed some of the new acts that guests can expect throughout the year, including a “duet” with Naughton in a sneak peek at the upcoming “Sing-a-long with Dolly” presentation.

For the Tennessee park in Pigeon Forge, the first week of operation has already been unique. As part of its 2024 The South’s Best awards, Southern Living named Dollywood one of the South’s Best Attractions on Wednesday. The article headline read, “Why Dollywood is Better than Any Other Theme Park.” Three brand-new performances honouring Dolly’s career are part of the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, which runs through April 14. “From the Heart—The Life & Music of Dolly Parton” tells her amazing journey. The new production will be staged in Celebrity Theatre from April 19 to June 9 during Covenant Health’s Flower & Food Festival. “Sing-a-long with Dolly” allows visitors (as well as park presidents) to break into song as they sing.

Along with the new productions, Dollywood has upgraded the electronics in a number of the park’s theatres and performance spaces, spending $1 million in total. Every season of the year will also include shows on every stage in the park. Dolly said, “I can’t wait to see everything we have in store for our guests in 2024.” This year, we’re devoting a significant amount of time and resources to our entertainment, and I believe that the effort we’ve put into these productions will be felt. “From the Heart” is one of those new programs. John Dietrich is the co-writer and director of this Broadway-style show, which is about my life and music. I’m excited to find out what the visitors think of it. There’s also “Trio,” which again has three people.
