The attraction was reopened as Goldrush Junction in 1970, and after being acquired by Herschend Enterprises in 1976, it was renamed Silver Dollar City. Herschend Enterprises didn’t rename the park as Dollywood until 1986, after Dolly Parton showed interest in it.
