Woman and 2 children dead, 2 others died after pontoon boat capsizes on Lake Powell in Arizona

A houseboat tragedy on Lake Powell has left a guy from Midvale dead, and his family is in deep sorrow. The victim’s spouse describes what he’s currently clinging onto after a pleasant trip ended tragically. Wyatt Hendricks sat in his house, staring down at his phone as he looked through hundreds of pictures that brought back memories of great times he had spent with Jackson Law. Hendricks claimed that Law won him over with a superb charcuterie board during their first date. The couple got married in September 2023, having met shortly before the pandemic.

The images displayed Law’s Puerto Vallarta proposal to Hendricks and their Utah wedding. Hendricks described what drew him to Law as “just this really just sweet, genuine energy, and he was so calming.” “It was genuinely invigorating to be around him.” They expanded their family with a dog, two cats, and a bird after purchasing a home. Hendricks added that Law’s dream was to acquire a home and that Law cherished home improvement projects. Their renovation plans were ambitious.

The two went to Lake Powell last week and slept on a houseboat with a dozen other people for a week. Hendricks remarked, “We went with our best friends, and it was so much fun.” He claimed that they truly needed that time together after a hectic few months. The activities on the trip included stargazing at night, exploring the lake, finding quiet, isolated spots to unwind, jumping from rope swings, and watching movies when it rained. Hendricks remarked, “It was just so wonderful and magical.” “It was the best way I could have spent the week with him,” the speaker said.

He was unaware that the memories he and Law created would mark the end of their time spent together. Hendricks remarked, “I think the hardest part about this whole thing is that it doesn’t feel real.” He just can’t talk about what happened at the end of their vacation because it was so upsetting. According to the National Park Service, Law went overboard early on Sunday morning, falling from the houseboat’s upper level roughly 20 feet. The National Park Service and San Juan County Sheriff’s Office replied, claiming in a press statement that crews searched by helicopter for Law but couldn’t find him. His body was found some hours later by a dive crew.

Law passed away a few weeks before the couple’s first anniversary of marriage. With tears in her eyes, Hendricks murmured, “It’s really, really hard.” “At 26 years old, and without even having been married for a year, no one should have to do this.”
