WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — Officials with the Pickwick Fire Department released new details about Friday morning’s fire at the Black Horse Bar & Grill.
Pickwick Fire Chief Adam Zimmerman told News 8 Now that crews were called to the scene at 3:09 a.m.
A worker had initially left the building. When they came back, they called 911.
Zimmerman said police who arrived on scene reported seeing flames coming out of the back of the building, and smoke inside of the building.
Officials confirmed that the Dakota, Rollingstone, Nodine, Ridgeway, Wilson, Pickwick, Winona, Goodview, and Minnesota City all responded to the fire.
Zimmerman said the reason behind the high of number of departments being called to assist was due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, requiring fire crews to truck in water.
The building was completely destroyed by the fire. A GoFundMe page has also been set up to help those impacted by the fire.
No injuries have been reported yet. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
