One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash in northwest Ocala early Tuesday morning.

At the intersection of Northwest 10th Street or U.S. 27 and Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
What time was the crash?
Ocala Fire Rescue spokeswoman Ashley Lopez said crews were notified at 8 a.m. and arrived at 8:02 a.m. Lopez said there was no extrication. Police officials said the victim was taken to HCA Florida Hospital where he later died.
What happened?
Authorities said a work truck was stopped in the inside lane at a stop light on NW 10th Street when a Toyota Corolla rear-ended the truck for an unknown reason.
The speed limit on the roadway is 45 mph. Officers said it’s unknown if speed was a factor. Traffic a few blocks away from the crash sight was detoured to a side street so first responders could remove the patient, investigate the crash and for the tow truck driver to remove the vehicles from the location.
Any information about the deceased?
He’s identified as Morgan Elliott Johnson of Ocala. Johnson was 32. The work truck driver, a man, had minor injures, police officials said. Typically, Ocala police officials do not release the name of the occupant in the other vehicle until their investigation is complete.
