Two Teenagers killed after crash in Millennium Way, Lowestoft

Two people have been rushed to the hospital after a “very heavy impact” crash saw railings fly across a road outside an Aldi.

The two-vehicle collision happened on Friday at 12.13pm at the junction of Millennium Way and Grasmere Drive in Lowestoft.

Railings were smashed into during the crash, with one section being hit so hard that it flew across to the opposite side of the road.

An ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle both rushed to the scene.

An adult man and woman were transported to the James Paget Hospital for further care.

Their current condition remains unknown.

An eyewitness said: “Some of the railings have gone right across to the opposite side of the road, and then some, so it was a very heavy impact.

“Both driver’s side doors were cut off, so it was obviously serious.”

The road was left splattered with oil, with emergency services scattering granules to help soak it up.

Millennium Way then reopened at about 2.30pm.
