TOWN OF PORTLAND, Wis. (WEAU) – Authorities are releasing the names of two people killed in a motorcycle vs. car crash in Monroe County.
According to an updated press release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 41-year-old Travis Brommerich of Stoddard, Wis. died due to the injuries he suffered in the crash. The passenger on the motorcycle, 39-year-old Jennifer Schultz of La Crosse, Wis. also died due to the injuries suffered in the crash.
According to the initial press release of the crash from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, on April 6, 2025, just after 5:00 p.m., the authorities were informed of a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle on State Highway 33 near County Highway X in the Town of Portland.
The press release says investigation showed that a motorcycle was traveling west on State Highway 33 when the driver, a 41-year-old Stoddard man, lost control while negotiating a curve. As a result, the driver was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle and a passenger then crashed with an eastbound car.
Both the motorcycle driver and the passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the eastbound car were not reported to be hurt.
