Multiple people died in southeast Las Vegas crash

After a Monday night collision in east Las Vegas that sent many individuals to the hospital, a pickup truck driver was taken into custody. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, multiple automobiles wrecked in the area of Desert Inn Road and Boulder Highway around 10:44 p.m. on Monday. Carlos Adan Alvarez, 36, of Las Vegas, is charged by police with driving while intoxicated, speeding, and running a red light. He was a 2024 Ford F-150 driver.

Alvarez was approaching the Boulder Highway intersection while traveling at a high speed south on Lamb Boulevard. According to authorities, an Elantra was driving south on Boulder Highway at that same period while using a green light. Males from Las Vegas, ages 31 and 23, are the driver and passenger of the Elantra. The Ford failed to stop at a red light, resulting in a collision. Alvarez hit the Elantra’s left side, according to the police. The Elantra then collided with other cars that were stopped at a red light in the eastbound lanes of the Desert Inn. When medical personnel came, they drove the two to Sunrise Hospital in the Elantra. Authorities claim they are seriously hurt. Although they were taken to Sunrise Hospital, the two drivers who were hit by the Elantra have already reported their injuries.

The crash scene will not be cleared up and the police investigation will not be concluded until the Desert Inn and Boulder Highway are closed. Early morning commuters are advised by the police to avoid the area and drive more slowly.
