Authorities are investigating an incident Saturday evening in which a local man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Winthrop Street.
Police on Tuesday identified the victim as Ernesto Cotez, 61, of Framingham.
In a press release, police said Cortez was found on the ground near 17 Winthrop St. Police said the operator of the vehicle remained on the scene following the 7:16 p.m. crash
After lifesaving efforts were performed on the victim, he was transported to MetroWest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated by the Framingham Police Department, Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Neither police nor the DA’s Office have identified the driver.
