The backstory:
The Florida Highway Patrol said a semi-truck with a trailer was traveling southbound on I-95, south of State Road 528, in the outside lane, when the driver lost control and ran off the roadway right.
Troopers said the truck hit a tree and caught on fire.
Officials have identified the driver as a 56-year-old male and the passenger as a 46-year-old male.
What we know:
The fire department currently is at the scene of the crash working to extinguish the fire, reports show.
Troopers stated a tow-truck is on standby to retrieve the truck once the fire is put out.
Officials said the center and outside southbound lanes currently are closed. However, the inside lane is open for traffic.
Deputies are asking drivers to account for extra travel time or to plan an alternate route until the crash can be cleared.

Troopers currently do not know why the driver of the truck lost control.
