Man killed in crash on I-75 in Laurel County identified
Kentucky State Police are working a deadly accident in Laurel County.
The crash happened on I-75 at the 38-mile marker, which is the South London, KY-192 exit.
Investigators are calling this a weather-related crash. A minivan hydroplaned on the interstate, and a semi swerved to avoid it. A utility truck then crashed into the semi.
The driver of the utility truck, 63-year-old Samuel Gregory of Flat Lick, in Knox County, was killed in the crash. Gregory was in a work truck owned by Stanley Pipeline out of Winchester.
Folks traveling at a high rate of speed down the interstate can cause a disaster like this today,” said Chris McQueen with Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement.
“When it starts raining we probably need to slow down just a little bit.”
Southbound 75 was closed in that area but is now back open.
