Dennis was playing a game of “Hide and Seek” with his brother and two other boys when he vanished. Despite a massive search effort involving over 1,400 people, no trace of Dennis was ever found.¹ ²

*Case 2: Teresa “Trenny” Gibson (1976)*

Trenny Gibson, a 16-year-old high school student, disappeared on October 8, 1976, while on a field trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Trenny was last seen walking ahead of her group on the Andrew’s Bald Trail. An extensive search effort was launched, but no sign of Trenny was ever found.

*Case 3: Pauline “Polly” Melton (1981)*

Polly Melton, a 58-year-old woman, disappeared on September 25, 1981, while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Polly was last seen by her friends as she walked ahead on the trail. Despite a search effort, no trace of Polly was ever found.

*Case 4: Derek Lueking (2012)*

Derek Lueking, a 24-year-old man, disappeared on March 16, 2012, while hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Derek’s car was found parked at the Newfound Gap parking area, but he was never seen again. Despite a search effort, no sign of Derek was ever found.

*Case 5: Unknown Case*
