Zakai Zeigler and Igor Milicic Jr. achieve rare feat in Tennessee’s win over Mizzou

Zakai Zeigler and Igor Milicic Jr. played a huge role on Wednesday night as No. 4 Tennessee knocked off No. 15 Mizzou in a thriller, 85-81. Zeigler finished with 21 points and 8 assists, while Milicic. finished with 20 points and 5 assists. In fact, that was the first time a Tennessee duo has scored at least 20 points and dished out at least 5 assists since 1998.

It was a back and forth game, as the Volunteers were actually down 34-28 at the half. However, Zeigler and Milicic. played a huge role in a second half offensive explosion that saw the Volunteers score 57 points. The duo combined for only 13 points in the first period, but combined to score 29 of their team’s 57 points in the final 20 minutes.

Not only did Milicic have a big game scoring, he also had a double-double as he pulled down 10 rebounds.

The 21 points for Ziegler was a season-high for him, and the most points he has scored at Tennessee in a game since scoring 26 points in a game against Kentucky last February.

Tennessee will be on the road in its next game, as the Volunteers travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
