CNN Brasil reports that a tourist-carrying plane crashed near Barcelos, Brazil, killing fourteen people. The disaster was verified by the city’s mayor to CNN Brasil on Saturday. In addition to the captain and co-pilot, the aircraft was carrying 12 passengers, according to CNN Brasil. According to Brazil’s Civil Defense, there are no survivors.
The accident happened because of poor weather as the passengers were traveling to the area for recreational fishing. At the moment of landing, it was pouring heavily, according to CNN Brazil. The nationalities of the deceased were not disclosed by officials.
