Analyst Brutally Reacts To Cowboys’ Hiring Matt Eberflus As Defensive Coordinator
Dallas Cowboys fans are understandably disappointed after the franchise hired Brian Schottenheimer to be its new head coach.
The Cowboys then made another move by hiring Matt Eberflus to be their new defensive coordinator.
Eberflus didn’t get the job done as head coach of the Chicago Bears, and he was fired after a heart-wrenching loss on Thanksgiving Day to the Detroit Lions.
But former NFL player Andrew Hawkins said he loves Eberflus as a defensive coordinator and spelled out his first task in his new role.
The Cowboys were 7-10 this season and missed the playoffs, and as the season wore on, the holes in their roster became impossible to ignore.
Their running game was very weak, and they were equally bad at stopping the run, leading to them finishing 29th in rushing yards allowed, tied for 28th in rushing yards per attempt allowed and last in rushing touchdowns given up.
Hawkins mentioned that Dallas needs help on the interior of their defensive line in order to hold opponents down and give themselves a chance to win more games.
Unfortunately, Dallas lacks salary cap flexibility, so it will have to make the most out of its 10 picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including the No. 12 overall selection.
