The drama surrounding Ohio State football has taken a curious turn ahead of their highly anticipated national championship game against Notre Dame. Caden Davis, a walk-on defensive end, has been dismissed from the team, leaving fans and followers speculating about the reasons behind his abrupt departure.

Davis, a sophomore from Mason, Ohio, gained notable popularity on TikTok and Instagram, boasting over 370,000 followers across both platforms. His online presence often gave fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the life of an Ohio State athlete. However, as of this week, Davis is no longer part of the Buckeyes’ roster.

Ohio State’s sports information director, Jerry Emig, confirmed Davis’ departure but did not elaborate on the reasons. The lack of clarity has sparked a wave of speculation among fans and media alike.

Fans question Ohio State’s silence

One incident, however, has caught attention. According to The Lantern, Ohio State’s student newspaper, Davis shared a video on Instagram suggesting he was traveling with the team to the Cotton Bowl. The catch? The footage was from last year’s trip. Offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick, currently in the transfer portal, commented under the post, “You don’t play here,” adding fuel to the fire.
