Gamecocks add transfer corner from NC State who hails from Palmetto State
South Carolina has added another cornerback out of the transfer portal.
A few weeks after signing Ball State transfer Myles Norwood, the Gamecocks picked up a commitment from N.C. State transfer Brandon Cisse on Monday night. USC confirmed his signing as well.
Cisse picked South Carolina over Ole Miss.
A Sumter native who played at Lakewood High, Cisse has played in 22 games over the past two college football seasons, racking up 38 tackles and one interception.
Per Pro Football Focus, Cisse was N.C. State’s top-graded cornerback and excelled particularity in tackling and run defense.
Cisse took a visit to South Carolina last week, soon after taking a visit to Ole Miss.
With the departure of O’Donnell Fortune, South Carolina will have a starting cornerback spot up for grabs — perhaps part of the reason Cisse decided to become a Gamecock.
