Teenage boy dead, girl fighting for life after crash in Esperance

After a terrifying vehicle accident in Esperance overnight, a 14-year-old girl is fighting for her life and a TEENAGE boy has died. The 18-year-old boy and the 14-year-old girl, according to the police, were flung from the rear seat of a Mazda 121 car that repeatedly rolled because they were not wearing seatbelts. Around two in the morning, a crash occurred close to Collier and Keenan roads in the Pink Lake neighborhood of the Goldfields-Esperance region.

It is alleged the 17-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle.

 

A 13-year-old girl, who was the front seat passenger, and another 18-year-old boy, who was in the boot of the car, as well as the driver, were not injured in the crash.

 

Meanwhile, three other people were taken to hospital last night following two separate car crashes.

 

A 36-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after her Ford Festiva Hatch collided with an Isuzu Truck on the Kwinana Freeway on the south-bound Thomas Road on-ramp.

 

The crash occurred about 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.

 

The woman was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

 

In another crash, a 51-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital for treatment after their Kia Sportage collided with a silver Ford Falcon sedan just before 6pm.

 

The incident occurred at the intersection of South West Highway and Dowdells Line, Waterloo.

 

Police said the Kia rolled, trapping the 51-year-old male driver and his 49-year-old female passenger. Both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

 

The 54-year-old male driver of the Ford Falcon was not injured.
