A man was killed in a vehicle crash in Grant County Friday night.
According to a press release from Indiana State Police, troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Western Avenue near 4th Street in Marion at approximately 5:30 p.m.
After a preliminary investigation, ISP determined a driver of a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling southbound on Western Avenue before striking a 1989 Ford Ranger on its driver’s side near an intersection with 4th Street.
The driver of the Ranger, later identified as 56-year-old James Miller of Marion, was transported to an area hospital before ultimately being pronounced dead.
The driver of the Grand Caravan sustained minor injuries. ISP reported that another passenger in the van was not injured during the crash.
State police are still looking into the cause of the crash. As of this article’s publication, no additional information had been made available.
