Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates fatal Medina County crash
Jaden Flinders, 23, of Wooster, died from injuries sustained in the crash after he was transported to Wadsworth Rittman Hospital.
MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a Medina County crash that left a 23-year-old man dead and two others injured.
The incident happened at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13.
According to OSHP, a Dodge Neon and Ford Mustang were driving south on High Street when the Dodge struck the rear of the Mustang. The driver of the Dodge was said to be traveling at “a high rate of speed.”
The collision caused the Mustang to travel off the right side of the road striking a nearby pole. The Dodge also lost control, travelling off the left side of the road striking a Ford F-250 travelling northbound head-on.
Officials say the driver of the Dodge, identified as Jaden Flinders, was transported to Wadsworth Rittman Hospital where he died of his injuries.
The 18-year-old driver of the Mustang was transported to Akron General by Wadsworth EMS. No update on his health has been provided.
The driver of the F-250, a 27-year-old man, was said to have suffered minor injuries, but was not transported to a hospital from the scene of the crash.
No other details were given. The incident remains under investigation.
