Douglas County teen dies in crash near Clinton Lake a day after being reported missing

Following a deadly crash, Douglas County deputies are attempting to seal the Clinton Lake road known as the dam road. Deputies were trying to seal East 900 Road around 7:30 p.m., according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. It is referred to as the Clinton Lake dam road locally. It’s being closed as the crash reconstruction team of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office looks into a fatal single-vehicle collision. At 5:38 p.m. on Tuesday, someone who found the car alerted dispatchers. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office named 17-year-old Brody Minton the crash victim around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Before receiving the call on Tuesday, Minton’s family had tried to locate him after reporting him missing on Monday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, their deputies conducted a thorough search, even at the Clinton Lake campgrounds, to find his car before it crashed. Grandview police provide information about their investigation into the homicide that occurred over the Fourth of July holiday. According to the police, the vehicle was found near the N. 1150 Road 900 block. Later, the sheriff’s office added, further information about the collision will be released. It is recommended that drivers take E. 902 Road in the vicinity of Eagle Bend Golf Course.
