10 teenagers killed, 2 hurt in motorcycle crash in Jacksonville

The names of the people involved in a fatal head-on collision in Onslow County have been made public by the Highway Patrol. Bobby Lee Rutherford, 44, of Jacksonville, was killed. The collision occurred on Monday just before 11:00 a.m. in Onslow County at the intersection of Catherine Lake Road and Fowler Manning Road. That is adjacent to the airport named Albert Ellis. According to the troopers, one of the two cars was struck head-on while turning left.

The other driver was Nathaniel Denning, a Maple Hill resident, 24 years old. As the collision is still being investigated, according to troopers, no charges have been made in relation to it.
