2 women killed, 3 others injured after car crashes into White Plains building, bursts into flames

Westchester County (WABC) — A car struck an apartment building in Westchester County on Monday morning, killing two people and injuring two more. Just after nine in the morning, according to investigators, the car appeared to lose control, strike a curb, a tree, and the front of the Battle Avenue building in White Plains. When emergency personnel arrived, the structure and the car were reportedly on fire. The two women appear to have been trapped inside the Tesla by the fire and were unable to escape. The two women were discovered dead inside the car after the fire was put out and it was taken outside.

They were eventually identified as Millie Ortiz Sheehan, 70, of Hartsdale, New York, who was driving, and Diana Trochez Sheehan, 36. The Greenburgh Town Board attested to the fact that Millie Ortiz Sheehan is Diana Trochez Sheehan’s mother-in-law and the wife of Councilman Francis Sheehan. Two kids within the apartment complex received on-site medical attention for their wounds. After being hit by debris while jogging by, the man was transported to White Plains Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.
