Three Teens killed in Boating Accident on Lake Placid and other …

LAKE PLACID, Florida: The small town of Lake Placid is reeling from the tragedy that claimed the lives of three close friends in an early-morning crash on Saturday. Three people were among the victims: a 17-year-old aspiring veterinarian, a young bull rider, and an enthusiastic fisherman.

While 21-year-old Austin Edwards loved fishing and hunting, it was nothing compared to the love he had for his mother. “He belonged to his mother. He never failed to express his affection for me. Austin’s mother, Samantha Rhymes, stated, “There was never a text that he didn’t tell me he loved me.” Both Edwards and his companion, 18-year-old Cope Brewer, perished in a collision on State Road 70 near Lake Placid on Saturday.

Their buddy Lindsay Sapp, 17, who was in a different vehicle involved in the collision, passed away early on Monday at Tampa General Hospital from her wounds. “Austin’s friends were usually the ones that hosted him every single day. Usually, it was Cope. Usually, it was Lindsay. Lindsay and my daughter are really close friends. Rhymes went on, “She was such a nice little child.

Lindsay was a distinguished 4-H agricultural program participant and a junior at Lake Placid High School. According to her friends, she loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian. Brewer was a bull riding enthusiast and a senior at Sebring High School. He was only a few weeks away from graduating. “God wanting them is such a sad thing. Naturally, I don’t understand, but the fact that everyone in the town knew them makes things extremely difficult,” Rhymes remarked.

Rhymes said that her son and his two friends have received an incredible amount of support from the community. At a special vigil on Sunday night, almost 500 people gathered to pray together. It was an opportunity for the small, close-knit Lake Placid community to lean on one another in sorrow following the loss of three well-known young friends. “He simply loved people, and they loved him back.” “He was simply an amazing person,” rhymes. The official cause of the crash is still being looked into, according to FHP.
