Just now: Massive fire erupts at popular Lake Cumberland marina

On Monday, emergency personnel were called to a large fire on Lake Cumberland. Around 2:30 in the morning, a fire started at the Conley Bottom Resort in Wayne County.

When firefighters were contacted, they reported that at least three structures had already caught fire. As of right today, no injuries have been reported. Houseboats are available for rent at Conley Bottom Resort. They also offer a campground, a number of eateries, and hotels near the waterfront.

Co-owner Freddie Piercy stated that workers will renovate the resort this autumn. They intend to build a little, temporary store in the interim so they can stay open all summer. “We didn’t lose any private boats and we didn’t lose any of our rentals,” Piercy stated. “So we’ll have a makeshift office by Friday.”
