Minor flooding expected along parts of Maine’s coastline through Saturday

– You should be aware of the high tide cycles if you want to visit the seaside in the next days.

We are keeping an eye out for the possibility of some minor coastal flooding on both Friday and Saturday during high tide.

This band of low pressure traveling to our south is the cause of everything.

We will continue to see this storm to the south into Saturday afternoon. There is a High Surf Advisory in effect for coastal York and Cumberland Counties from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

There will be a coastal flood advisory in place on Friday from noon to three p.m. In Portland, minor flooding begins at 12 feet. Having said that, it is predicted that the high tide would peak at 12.6′ on Friday afternoon at 1:16 p.m.

With a predicted high tide of 12.7′ on Saturday afternoon at 2:05 p.m., there may be another round of minor flooding.
