Many people died today as a result of houseboat fires on Dale Hollow Lake.

On Thursday, workers on a houseboat on Dale Hollow Lake attempted to put out a fire. At approximately 7:30 p.m., fire crews in the Horse Creek Marina’s Willow Grove neighborhood responded to the vessel via water.

Dramatic photos of the completely consumed houseboat were shared by the East 52 Volunteer Fire Department. When fire crews got to the boat, nobody was aboard it. The fire did not damage anyone. The department shared on social media, “The boat owner is very saddened by this incident, but we are grateful that the boat was isolated and the situation did not get much worse.”
