Around 2:00 p.m. on January 29, according to Durham police, a white Cadillac SUV traveling west on Sandford Road collided with a white Subaru SUV traveling north on Concession Road 6. A 32-year-old female passenger in the Subaru passed away from her injuries after the other four occupants were taken to a nearby hospital, according to the police.

Following their transfer to trauma centers in the Toronto area with potentially fatal injuries, a 29-year-old female passenger and a male passenger one year old are still listed in critical condition, according to the police. According to authorities, the driver of the Subaru is still in critical condition.

According to authorities, the driver and the passenger of the Cadillac were also taken to a hospital in the Newmarket region, where they are still being treated for serious injuries. Roadways in the area were blocked for a few hours as evidence was gathered.
