Dirt track racing legend Scott Bloomquist died in a plane crash on August 16-2024 at the age of 60 ¹. The Hall of Fame driver was piloting a small plane that crashed into a barn on his property in Mooresburg, Tennessee ². Bloomquist had an illustrious career spanning over four decades, with numerous accolades and achievements. He won over 600 feature events, including three World of Outlaws Late Model Series championships, two Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series titles, and 17 Tennessee state championships ¹.

 

Bloomquist was known for his aggressive driving style and his ability to adapt to different track conditions. He was a pioneer and innovator in the sport, and his influence extended beyond his on-track accomplishments ¹. He was the owner of Team Zero Race Cars, a chassis manufacturer for dirt late model vehicles, and was inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in 2002 ³.
