NEWS NOW: Culver-Stockton College’s football team faced a tough season opener against Mount MARY.

Culver-Stockton College’s football team faced a tough season opener against Mount Mary, struggling with consistency on offense and ultimately losing by four touchdowns.

The game started with Mount Mary taking an early lead but Culver-Stockton managed to close the gap to 13-7 by halftime. However, the Wildcats’ offense faltered in the second half, scoring only one touchdown midway through the third quarter.

Despite a strong connection between quarterback Drake Day and wide receiver Kyle Dixon, the team’s offense couldn’t maintain momentum. Mount Mary dominated the game, running 32 more plays and possessing the ball for 24 more minutes.

Culver-Stockton’s defense struggled to contain Mount Mary’s offense, allowing 436 total yards. The Wildcats’ offense, on the other hand, managed only 100 yards in the second half, averaging just 4.8 yards per play.

This disappointing loss highlights the team’s need to work on their offensive consistency and defensive strategy to improve their performance in upcoming games.
