BREAKING: Nebraska State Patrol identifies man killed in wrong-way crash on I-80

An 88-year-old man lost his life in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 near Greenwood early on Sunday, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. The State Patrol reports that at around 3:30 in the morning, Chester Heidel, of Livingston, Texas, was killed in a head-on collision involving a vehicle and a semi-truck between mile markers 419 and 420. According to the authorities, Heidel was operating a Ford Econoline van in the eastbound lanes when it struck the semi-truck while travelling west. At the scene, Heidel was pronounced deceased. According to the State Patrol, the semi’s driver was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, where he received minor medical attention before being allowed to go.
