Kyle Larson of NASCAR gives strong indication that he will return to the Indianapolis 500 in 2025.

Soon after Kyle Larson won a spectacular 30th Anniversary Brickyard 400 He delivered the fans what they wanted to hear at the PPG-sponsored event on July 21 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. “I adore you, Indiana fans. I know you love me as well. “How about we return next May and try to kiss these bricks in an Indy car?” Larson remarked this after getting out of his automobile at the ‘Yard of Bricks’.

The crowd let up a yell. Larson gained a lot of new admirers and formed some great friendships during his debut effort at the 108th Indianapolis 500 this past May. Larson finished 18th in the Indianapolis 500, finishing all 500 miles after being penalised for speeding on one of his pit stops, but he had a great month of May driving for Arrow McLaren/Hendrick Motorsports in the No. 17 Chevrolet. When questioned by NBC’s Marty Snider, who was giving the post-race interview that was carried over the large Indianapolis Motor Speedway public address system, if it was a “guarantee” that he would return to the Indy 500 in 2025, Larson provided a strong indication that this was his goal.

“I would love to,” Larson replied. “We are working on it. I hope we can make an announcement shortly. “See you guys all next May.” Larson’s month of May in Indianapolis was going well until race day, when it rained. That made May 26, 2024, one of the most difficult and frustrating days of Larson’s career.

He was hoping to become the next driver to complete the “Double” by competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on the same day. It was advertised as the “Hendrick 1100.” However, when rain delayed the start of the Indianapolis 500 by four hours, Larson, McLaren’s Zak Brown, NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick, and Hendrick Motorsports Vice Chairman Jeff Gordon all agreed that Larson’s participation in the race was the highest priority of the day.
