Good good and bad news for NASCAR Cup teams heading into the Olympic break

The regular season concludes with four races, the first of which will take place on August 11 at Richmond Raceway. The playoffs begin September 8 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Here is a look at where each Cup organisation stands after 22 races this season.

Tyler Reddick’s runner-up finish at Indy last weekend brings his total to three top-three finishes in the last four races. Since Memorial Day weekend, Reddick has only finished outside of the top 10 once. Reddick ranks third in the season standings, 15 points behind leader Kyle Larson. Bubba Wallace’s fifth-place performance at Indy marks his third top-ten finish in the past four races. Wallace won a stage in Indianapolis, his first stage victory.

Front Row Motorsports – Good news: Todd Gilliland’s sixth-place result at Indy gives the team ten top-10 finishes through 22 races this season. This is an increase from previous year’s top ten. Gilliland has four top ten finishes this year, matching his total from last year. Gilliland has an average finish of 14.5 in his previous 11 races. Michael McDowell has only finished in the top 15 in two of six races since finishing second at Sonoma in June. Kyle Larson leads the Hendrick Motorsports series with four victories, including his recent Brickyard 400 victory. Larson is the point leader. The organisation has nine wins in the first 22 races of the season. Hendrick Motorsports had six wins at this stage of the year.
