Breaking news: Kevin Harvick explains his view on the Kyle Busch NASCAR decision that has everyone up in arms.

Kevin Harvick has expressed his thoughts on Kyle Busch finishing in the top five during a restart of the Nashville Cup Series race. On Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, Harvick detailed why he believed NASCAR made the correct decision in allowing Busch to regain his position despite hitting the wall to avoid a wreck. “I went through this in Darlington last year. We all piled up, and I didn’t spin out or anything. “I got hit from the back, hit from the front, and I just slowed down and made contact,” Harvick explained. “The way that the regulation is right now, it’s not like you’re involved in the collision; it’s where they throw the caution, and if you’re slowing down.

They want the regulation because they don’t want people rushing through the wrecks with caution. When about Busch, Harvick stated, “He went up, scrubbed the wall, slowed down, slowed down.” He never struck the 42 [John Hunter Nemechek] again. He simply slowed down, and they gave him his position back. But the reason they do this isn’t because he was involved in the caution, it’s not because you were involved in the caution, and it’s not even about keeping up with the speed. They issue the warning if they believe you were involved in the accident, were spun out, or something similar. It’s an odd rule, but the reason they don’t care about how.

Busch was unable to maintain his top-five position on Sunday, finishing 27th after being involved in a collision. Harvick stated on the show that the two-time Cup Series champion’s situation is deteriorating. “You know, the first part of the race they ran 30th, 31st, running in the back,” Harvick recounted. “Terrible, all these blunders. Finally, they get everything turned around and determine the track position. When they reach the front of the queue, he is removed from it. He’s the one who gets sent out of the queue and into the fence. I’m not even sure how to correct it at this point considering they did nothing wrong. He did nothing wrong. He’s on the worst awful.
