Henderson struggled in his first five NBA games.

He doesn’t seem to know when to take his shot and when to defer to his teammates.

He passes the ball too much.

His shot selection was terrible.

He couldn’t stop fouling on defense.

He then missed nine games with an ankle injury.

Since returning on November 22, Scoot has steadily improved.

He makes better decisions with the ball, shoots more effectively and plays defense with more concentration to avoid stupid fouls.

But what is the impetus for this change?

There are a few things, but the key decision by head coach Chauncey Billups appears to have ushered in a more confident, smoother version of Henderson, and that has led to success for both Scoot and the individual.
