ESPN REPORT: This season, Rickea Jackson is in a new league with Indiana.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Lady Vols basketball has one of its three injured players back for its Thanksgiving matchup.

Senior point guard Jasmine Powell was warming up before Tennessee’s matchup with Indiana, but sophomore guard Avery Strickland and star senior forward Rickea Jackson were not dressed to play.

Powell and Strickland missed the Lady Vols’ last game, Powell with a wrist injury and Strickland due to concussion protocol. Jackson will miss her third straight game due to a lower leg injury.

No. 21 Tennessee (3-1) faces No. 19 Indiana (3-1) on Thursday (6 p.m. ET, FOX) at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Florida. It’s the Lady Vols’ first game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where they will also face No. 20 Oklahoma on Saturday.

Jackson’s injury has been labeled day-to-day by Lady Vols coach Kellie Harper, who did not have an update to her status after Sunday’s game.

“We don’t have an update on timelines,” Harper said Sunday. “Sometimes injuries just don’t allow you to have a timeline. You’ve got to work with them to help get them healed and able to get out on the court.”

Jackson chose to return for a fifth season instead of entering the 2022 WNBA Draft, where she was a projected lottery pick.

She spent the first three seasons of her college career at Mississippi State, where she played under three head coaches before entering the transfer portal halfway through her junior year.

The 6-foot-2 forward from Detroit was a first-team All-SEC selection last season and made multiple preseason watch lists this year, including the Cheryl Miller Award, the Naismith Trophy and the Wade Trophy. Jackson was a top-five finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award last season.
