Head coach Dan Campbell of the Detroit Lions, who led the team to its first NFL playoff victory since the 1991 campaign, has reached an agreement to extend his contract through 2027.

On Thursday, the Lions declared that Chris Spielman, general manager Brad Holmes, and special assistant Campbell had all inked new contracts.

“We’re excited that Brad and Dan have contracts for the upcoming four seasons,” stated Sheila Hamp, owner of the Lions. “They have been the main reason for our football team’s reconstruction and the success we have had. Our football program’s continuity from them will be essential to our on-field success in the future.”

It sounds far nicer to have Detroit Lions General Manager Brad Holmes and Head Coach Dan Campbell around for another four years than it does to have either of our presidential candidates around for another four. Heck, I believe that Holmes and Campbell would be more suitable candidates for the election. Either of them would be my choice over the senior citizens we currently have.
