sad news: detriot lions head coach has been fired due to…

At the NFL scouting combine, Deshea Townsend, the new defensive passing game coordinator and coach of the Detroit Lions’ cornerbacks, had a conversation with local reporters about his goals for his team’s first season.

Furthermore, Townsend made his remarks prior to the Lions adding Amik Robertson via free agency, re-signing Emmanuel Moseley, or trading for cornerback Carlton Davis III. Based on their conversation with the media last month, Townsend and the Lions are obviously in agreement with how they view the position.

Townsend also mentioned how much he admired Aaron Glenn, the Lions defensive coordinator and a former cornerback. Regarding their expectations for their defense, the two are in agreement.

Townsend declared, “You won’t play if you won’t tackle,” from Indianapolis. That’s all there is to it. You cannot play if it is on the video that you refuse to tackle. In the end, all I’m looking for are individuals that are eager to make the first move and don’t back down from touch.

After arriving in Detroit, Davis described himself as a shutdown cornerback. However, the former Auburn player selected in the second round stated that he was aware of this defense’s physicality and resiliency after facing the Lions twice the previous season, and that “you respect those qualities for sure.”

Robertson claimed that “the swagger, the grit, the energy,” and “that coach Dan, how he coaches, that’s what you look for in a coach,” were what made him decide to join the Lions after watching them play. The former Raiders cornerback emphasized his swagger, claiming that as a 5-foot-8 Louisiana Tech product, he matches the description.
